Our goal in this section is to bring you stories of those directly helped by your support of Benevolent Bean. For you to see the direct connection between the lives of those helped and the cup of coffee you enjoy. In addition, we will feature selected events which we feel will be of interest to you as our work goes forward.

Recently, we met Denny Wilford the founder of "Just 2 Drops". Denny has committed himself to the eradication of polio in Ethiopia. You cannot travel within Ethiopia and not see many impacted by this disease. Just two drops of oral polio vaccine can prevent children throughout Ethiopia from contracting polio. Denny's effort match the goals of Benevolent Bean to return 60% of our net proceeds to health, educaton, and economic development.

The young woman previously featured in News & Events was a victim of polio who was restored to walking again, albeit with crutches, after spending the first twenty years of her life crawling on her hands and knees. Today she is working at the coffee plant in Yirgacheffe as a productive member of the team there and earning her own way.

Benevolent Bean will be helping to support Denny's work in Ethiopia by returning a portion of sales of Benevolent Bean coffee.
